2023 Municipal Election Information
General Election: November 21, 2023
The following positions are to be voted upon in the town of Alta 2023 Municipal Election.
- Council Seat At-Large, four-year term
- Council Seat At-Large, four-year term
Candidates’ names as they will appear on the ballot
- Elise Morgan – candidate declaration
- Sheridan J. Davis – candidate declaration
- Dan Schilling – candidate declaration
Dates for filing Declaration of Candidacy:
Thursday June 1, 2023 thru Wednesday June 7, 2023.
A Declaration of Candidacy form must be filed in person with the Town Clerk at the Alta Town Office Building, 10201 East Hwy 210, Alta UT. Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00 pm.
A person filing a declaration of candidacy for a town office shall meet the requirements of Utah Code Annotated section 20A-9-03.

Notice of 2023 Municipal Election
Write-In Candidate:
To become a valid write-in candidate for the election, a person must file a “Write-In Declaration of Candidacy” form in person with the Town Clerk by September 5, 2023. The candidate must also qualify for all the requirements of the office.
Primary Election:
If the number of candidates for a particular municipal office does not exceed twice the number of persons needed to fill that office, then a primary election for that office will NOT be held and the candidates are considered nominated.

Salt Lake County Clerk Election Division – Mission
Administer countywide elections in general election years (even-numbered years) and contract with cities (including Alta) to administer city elections in municipal election years (odd numbered years). Also, provide election services for special elections and bond elections for Salt Lake County. Maintain voter registration records, manage voting precincts and establish polling locations for registered voters throughout Salt Lake County.
