The function of the planning commission is to author and approve the Town of Alta General Plan. Alta’s current general plan was approved in 2005, and updated in 2016.
The Planning Commission also serves as the Land Use Authority for the Town of Alta. They will hear, review and act on all land use applications, and shall be the final decision-maker on such applications.
Meetings are scheduled ahead of time, and generally occur on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, at the Alta Community Center/Library. If there is no business in front of the commisssion, there is no meeting. If there is to be a meeting, the agenda will be posted according to law.
