The function of the planning commission is to author and approve the Town of Alta General Plan. Alta’s current general plan was approved in 2005, and updated in 2016.

The planning commission also serves as the Land Use Authority for the Town of Alta. They will hear, review and act on all land use applications, and shall be the final decision-maker on such applications.

The planning commission tentatively meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. However, when there is no business before the commission, meetings are cancelled. Please click here for a tentative schedule of commission meetings in 2024.

Current commission members and term end dates.  Members shall continue to serve until their successors are appointed.
