Emergency Proclamations Related to COVID-19

On April 8th, the Alta Town Council adopted Resolution 2020-R-5 consenting and extending Emergengy Proclamation NO. 1 OF 2020 in excess of thirty days, which extended the town’s state of emergency declaration and all emergency proclamations subsequently issued by Mayor Sondak. Please see below for those proclamations. The Alta Town Council will consider whether to extend the state of emergency beyond term of Resolution 2020-R-5 at its regular meeting next Wednesday, May 6th. March 14 Proclamation Number 1 declaring a local state of emergency in Alta.

March 18 Proclamation Number 2 restricting gatherings; closing restaurants, bars, and lodging facilities; implementing social distancing protocols and other measures at businesses; and reducing Town of Alta operations to essential services.

March 31 Proclamation Number 3  adopting Salt Lake County Health Order requiring people stay home; requiring private vehicles not to contain individuals who do not reside in the same household; prohibiting gathering and crowding at trailheads; prohibiting urinating or defecating on public property; and clarifying or extending social distancing and business operations requirements.

April 1 Proclamation Number 4 requiring individuals who’ve traveled to Alta from outside the State of Utah to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days; imploring non-resident homeowners to leave or not travel to Alta, and requiring them to self-quarantine if they do travel to Alta; and requiring housekeepers not to enter occupied units until those units have been vacant for 72 hours.
