The Town Manager is the chief administrative officer for the Town of Alta and is responsible for administering, overseeing, and directing all daily and long-range Town activities and programs.  With broad policy guidance from the Town Council, the Town Manager is responsible for strategic implementation of Council goals. The Town Manager is expected to provide broad leadership and organizational direction for the Town of Alta staff and must work with the Mayor and Council to prepare and develop policies to further Town objectives. The Town Manager advises both the Mayor and Council on suggested policy and ordinance changes as well as carrying out and enforcing the existing policies and ordinances.

The Alta Town Council will hold a public hearing on December 14, 2022 at 2pm to receive comments about proposed changes to the FY23 budgets. Instructions on how to participate and/or make comments can be found here.

All attendees will have their video and microphones enabled during this part of the meeting.

Alta Central is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual ready to help our community and serve with a purpose in a Public Safety Dispatcher position. This position offers an exciting, sometimes taxing, opportunity in public safety. Alta Central dispatchers receive non–emergency and emergency calls requesting police, fire, and assistance from the Alta Marshal’s Office.  Dispatchers work with multiple agencies, and monitor and operate a variety of telephone, radio, and computer systems. There’s also possible downtime during shifts which should be used first for training and chores, but may allow time for personal tasks. This unique position is perfect for someone with a flexible schedule that loves to ski and appreciates the mountain environment. Part–time dispatchers work 8 hours per week and cover vacation time for full–time dispatchers which can be up to 48 hours per week

SB170 changed the 2022 candidate filing period to February 28 – March 4, 2022.  This bill was passed by the Utah Legislature on February 11.  As a result, the candidate filing period will now close at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 4, 2022.
