The Town of Alta and the Alta Marshal’s Office are soliciting proposals from local qualified towing companies interested in providing towing services to the Town on a contract basis and a non-preferential towing rotation bid for towing requests by other entities through the Town. This new form is just one more avenue for the public to share thoughts and feedback. As always, citizens are welcomed and encouraged to attend and participate in Town Council Meetings.

September 14th Work Session: Noise Ordinance

We invite you to participate in a work session on September 14, 2022 from 3-4 pm with the Town Council. The Mayor will facilitate a conversation with members of the public, businesses, and town council members. All attendees will have their video and microphones enabled during this part of the meeting.
Road Construction in LCC
August 10, 2022
Rocky Mountain Power will begin construction to improve the existing powerline along the road in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
The work is scheduled to begin on August 15th, 2022, and will affect traffic in the canyon until completed.
Expect traffic delays during weekday periods. The construction team is employing an adaptable traffic monitoring system for the signals that will direct traffic to one lane during those periods.

We are looking for a qualified candidate to perform routine building maintenance tasks at the Town Office, Alta Central, and Alta Community Center. This person will schedule and conduct special projects in conjunction with other building maintenance technicians and manage snow removal activities at Town facilities during the winter season. 20 hours per week. Alta Central is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual ready to help our community and serve with a purpose in a Public Safety Dispatcher position. This position offers an exciting, sometimes taxing, opportunity in public safety. Alta Central dispatchers receive non–emergency and emergency calls requesting police, fire, and assistance from the Alta Marshal’s Office. Dispatchers work with multiple agencies, and monitor and operate a variety of telephone, radio, and computer systems. There’s also possible downtime during shifts which should be used first for training and chores, but may allow time for personal tasks. This unique position is perfect for someone with a flexible schedule that loves to ski and appreciates the mountain environment. Part–time dispatchers work 8 hours per week and cover vacation time for full–time dispatchers which can be up to 48 hours per week
