Friends of Alta (F.O.A.) is Alta’s local land trust, and its mission is to protect the environment of Alta, including watershed and wildlife habitat areas; to preserve Alta’s unique character and heritage; and to encourage stewardship and sustainability of Alta’s environment and community. F.O.A. operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Alta Community Enrichment (A.C.E.) is Alta’s Arts Council, a 501(c)(3) organization non-profit that creates opportunities in the community for individual and group participation in the arts. Some of the diverse events hosted by A.C.E. include music acts, films, Life & Times Series and the annual Snowflake Festival and Wildflower Festival.
The Alta Chamber and Visitors Bureau is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to promote Alta and Little Cottonwood Canyon as a year-round world-class mountain resort destination. The Chamber was organized to promote growth, foster development and encourage activities within and around the Town of Alta. A significant amount of support is received from a contract with the Town of Alta for funding.
Alta Ski Area is the Town of Alta’s primary wintertime destination for visitors from around the world, and for local and regional residents who consider skiing at Alta a lifestyle or an occasional escape from the daily grind.
Alta Environmental Center’s mission is sustainability; to protect and improve the well being of Alta’s environment, ski industry, and community.
Alta Historical Society’s mission is to collect and preserve valuable documents, artifacts, photographs and films tied to Alta’s past and to serve as a facilitator to tell the story of Alta’s rich history in ways that will enhance the cultural awareness for the general public.
