A couple weeks of hot, dry spring weather have accelerated the approach of summer in Alta, and the Town of Alta and its partners are moving toward implementation of our 2017 summer recreation program as scheduled:

–The Town is seeking applicants for employment at the Summer Information Booth. Click here to see the full job description, or contact Kate Black in the town office at 801-742-6011 or kblack@townofalta.com for more information.
–The Albion Basin Summer Road is expected to open on July 1st.
–The Summer Road Shuttle will be operated by Canyon Transportation, and will offer free shuttle service to and from Albion Basin, between 9 AM and 6 PM on holidays and weekends between July 1st and September 4th.
–Alta Ski Area will operate the Albion Day Lodge this summer, although details remain to be determined regarding the final schedule and food service program.
–Public restrooms will be open in the Alta Ski Area Albion Ticket Office building on the upper level, adjacent to the locker room. The Town will locate additional portable toilets in the Albion Parking Lot and near the Summer Information Booth.
–Summer visitation to Alta and Albion Basin has grown rapidly in recent years. This has increasingly resulted in damage to established trails, and the appearance of illegal user-created trails that degrade our alpine ecology and threaten the watershed. You can help mitigate these impacts by participating in this summer’s stewardship program: click here to view the stewardship calendar, and make a plan to give back to Alta this summer!
